The Unfinished Journey – Andrzej Krzanowski
Andrzej Krzanowski was a Polish composer and accordionist whose promising career ended in 1990 at the age of 39 with premature death. Krzanowski wrote symphonic, chamber and vocal-instrumental music. Because of his virtuosity as a performer, he was called „the Chopin of the accordion”. As a composer Krzanowski liberated the accordion from its inferior status, and inspired the whole generation of composers and performers to take up this instrument. His musical style was a phenomenon of great importance in the 1970s and 1980s. The film covers new aspects of Krzanowski’s career as well as his academic and community activity.
